Between April 15 to 18, Arkema, a global leader in specialty materials, is set to showcase its latest innovations at Chinaplas 2025 in the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center (Hall 17, Booth D111). Centered around driving sustainability, clean mobility, and high-end manufacturing, Arkema is presenting a series of high-performance specialty material solutions that are bio-based, recyclable, lightweight, and highly durable.
Chinaplas is a fantastic platform that allows Arkema to showcase its materials innovations under one roof. It also offers a unique opportunity to connect and listen to our customers so we can gather market insights and explore new ways to co-create for the future . The latest innovations we are presenting this year are the direct result of the group’s ‘One Arkema strategy’. By bringing together the combined expertise and technologies from across business units, the strategy enables Arkema to truly develop integrated specialty material solutions for a wide range of niche markets and serve our customers’ diverse needs.”
Drawing on comprehensive portfolio of specialty materials, Arkema’s booth will spotlight three core application areas — Driving Sustainability, Clean Mobility, and High-end Manufacturing. Visitors can interact with Arkema’s high-performance materials firsthand and experience the tangible impact they are making across key sectors, including lithium batteries, clean energy, new mobility, sports, high-end manufacturing and consumer electronics. They can also explore how the solutions enhance overall product performance, and significantly reduce end-to-end environmental impact. As the world rapidly changes with time, Arkema’s solutions are well-placed to meet evolving manufacturing needs and consumer trends.
Sustainability is a key pillar to Arkema’s strategy
Using castor seeds as raw material, Arkema has established a unique, fully-integrated, and renewable bio-sourced value chain. This enables Arkema to offer a comprehensive portfolio of biobased flagships materials:
- Rilsan® PA11, 100% derived from castor seeds and fully recyclable, combines lightweight, high-durability, and excellent chemical resistance. Rilsan® PA11 is widely adopted across multiple sectors including new energy vehicles, home appliance, 3D printing and electronic devices. Supported by a global production chain, Rilsan® PA11’s carbon footprint stands at 1.3 kg CO2e/kg today — approximately 80% lower than conventional fossil-based polyamides.
- Pebax® Rnew® TPE is a bio-based and recyclable material used extensively in sports equipment such as running shoes, as well as in electronic devices, medical applications or as antistatic additives.
Arkema is also showcasing its advanced durable Kynar® PVDF, high-performance material used in lithium-ion batteries as electrode binders and separator coatings, and in semiconductors manufacturing or water filtration membranes.
PI Advanced Materials, an Arkema affiliate, is presenting its wide range of Polyimide films, varnishes, powder and stock shapes, designed for applications in advanced electronics, electric vehicles, semiconductors and other advanced industrial segments. Ultra-high performance Polyimide materials offer unmatched thermomechanical performances, electrical properties and chemical resistance, driving innovation in highly demanding industries.
These high-performance materials greatly contribute to end-use industries’ decarbonization efforts and materials innovations.
Looking ahead, Arkema is committed to continue delivering sustainable solutions for more circular applications by pursuing breakthroughs in materials innovations and broadening partnerships with customers.
