Arkema and Materialise collaboration challenge

Arkema and its partner Materialise initiated a design challenge to create an innovative children’s eyewear that combines bio‑based material with advanced 3D‑printing technology. The winning concept was selected for its aesthetic appeal, durability, and comfort, leveraging the unique advantages of bio‑based Rilsan® PA11 Fine powders including its lightweight nature and outstanding mechanical performance.

The selected eyewear design, created by Acuitis, stood out for its creativity and strong commitment to sustainability and comfort for children. Acuitis will now receive support from Arkema and Materialise to bring this children’s eyewear collection to life.

Driving global growth

Arkema has announced the successful start-up of its new Rilsan® Clear transparent polyamide production unit on the Singapore platform. This strategic investment of approximately US$20 million triples Arkema’s global production capacity for Rilsan® Clear transparent polyamides, reinforcing the Group’s leadership in high-performance polymers and establishing the largest transparent polyamide capacity in Asia.

Arkema’s presence at MIDO reflects the Group’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and performance, helping eyewear brands design products that meet the evolving expectations of consumers worldwide.
